Abstract :
The application of IEEE P-576 is discussed, covering maximum pulling tension, sidewall pressure, jamming, minimum bending radius, minimum installation temperatures, splicing, and high-voltage proof testing. It is emphasized that the use of the procedures can provide a significant increase in life expectancy for an insulated cable system. It is suggested that these practices be considered at both the engineering design and the installation phase of any project
