Abstract :
The magneto-optic imager (MOI) is widely used in detecting surface and subsurface cracks and corrosion in aircraft skins. In order to solve the issue of the identification of aircraft skin defection by using Magneto-optical image, this paper, presents an algorithm for processing MOI image data to eliminate background noise called Motion-Based filter and both detection algorithms of surface and subsurface cracks at rivet sites and corrosion in aircraft multi-skin. Real-time rivet detection based on morphology as well as a corrosion feature extraction algorithm based on fractal dimension is proposed in this paper.
