Abstract
Underwater optical communication is an attractive means to achieve high datarate, low latency, and covert communication between underwater vehicles or sensor nodes. We demonstrate the viability of using a software defined radio system to communicate at Mbps rates using LEDs and lasers underwater and examine the performance of BPSK and GMSK simplex and duplex links.
