Abstract

With the data retrieved from the search engines Yahoo and Sogou, this paper aimed to study the web page counts, total backlink counts, external backlink counts and the Web Impact Factor (WIF) for governmental tourism websites of Chinese provincial capitals. By studied whether the web page counts, total backlink counts, external backlink counts and WIFs of websites associate with the rating of these websites, it was found that web page counts, external backlink counts and total backlink counts can be better evaluation indexes for governmental tourism websites of Chinese provincial capitals than WIFs. To expect those founding can promote the development of governmental tourism websites.
