Abstract
Based on the attributes of line quality in digital prints proposed by ISO/IEC 13660 standard, several digital prints´ line qualities were evaluated and analyzed in this study. First of all, a test diagram, which consists of lines oriented in horizontal and vertical directions respectively and with different width was designed and output by some digital printers. Then the attributes reflecting the line quality most effectively were detected through a CCD camera-based industrial image analysis system. Finally, the line quality for several digital prints were evaluated and analyzed. The results shown that line width, edge raggedness, and edge blurriness in digital prints were highly correlated with not only the direction of the line, but with digital imaging mechanism. Furthermore, even though with the same imaging mechanism, the performances of line quality are not the same as with each other in digital prints.
