Abstract
Use of high-speed three-phase induction motors supplied through electronic power converters from single-phase network in electric drive systems used in household appliances and power tools is proposed. Such solution would result in reduction of motor weight and thus the mass of the whole drive system, possibility to regulate (set) the rotation rate within wide range, and, most importantly, increase of efficiency and improvement of reliability of drive systems of that type. This paper presents results of analysis and simulation tests concerning considered technical solutions depending on the type of electronic power converter (single-phase power supply + inverter) feeding a three-phase induction motor, based on which preliminary parameters of the laboratory circuit were determined.
