Abstract :
In hospitals drug dosage calculation is a complex process which involves multiple steps when calculating a single dose. This multi-step process is error-prone, as it requires experience and the full attention of physicians or nurses involved. The potential for error is high and the consequences are potentially serious. Software technologies can offer much added value in ensuring that patients receive the correct dose of a drug based on their individual needs. This paper describes a distributed drug management system that resolves critical drug dosing problems.
