Abstract :
Radar altimeter echo simulation on ocean surface based upon Physical Optics (PO) method is implemented in this paper. PO method is a successful technique in the electromagnetic computation for targets whose dimensions are large compared with the wavelength of the incident wave. Using this method, we build the models to simulate the electromagnetic interaction occurring in ocean surface with an adaptive triangular subdivision for the surface integral when computing the field. In data processing, synthetic aperture technique is applied to improve the resolution.
