Abstract :
In wireless sensor networks (WSN), achieving low power consumption is a key consideration in developing new routing algorithms and hence existing routing strategies proposed for Mobile ad hoc networks are not directly applicable to wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a new routing protocol, meshed multipath routing with leveling in route discovery (L-MMPR) is presented. We first present the leveling scheme where the whole sensor network is tagged with different level ID´s, then we present the multipath searching taking the advantage of those level ID´s and after that routing of packets using packet replication method is explained. Performance evaluations show that throughput values of proposed L-MMPR method are better than ordinary meshed multipath routing (MMPR) protocol.
