Abstract
A framework to simulate multiunit processes is discussed. The method uses VAX/VMS routines to spawn unit software as subprocesses and coordinates the simulation through a shared data file. Each unit contains its own memory of the inputs and outputs and reads and writes only the data pertaining to itself. The framework is very flexible in that units can easily be added and it is independent of the complexity of the units
