Abstract :
Two novel hybrid fractal monopole antennas, Koch fractal loaded Sierpinski gasket are proposed in this paper. Simulated results suggest that the traditional Sierpinski gasket antenna can be loaded by fractal shaped elements to miniaturize the antenna while maintaining its multi-band behavior. Also a MEMS fractal antenna is designed by applying MEMS switches to the Koch fractal loaded Sierpinski gasket monopole. It is found that this antenna design provides more freedom in multi-frequency working.
