Abstract :
An approach for predicting vibration signatures due to component failures or changes under operating conditions is discussed. Using a dynamic computer model of the rotating machine, a variety of natural modes of oscillations can be simulated. Results are analyzed using a fast Fourier transform code to generate spectra that show changes in spectral shapes caused by the simulated anomalies
