  • Abstract
Linear-predictive-coding synthesis using impulse type excitations is generally plagued by buzziness present in the synthesized speech. An excitation signal that takes into account the desired attributes of flat spectrum, broad pulse shape, and correspondence to the events at the glottal level is presented. The performance of this signal is compared with five other excitation signals using forced-pair trials. The results show that the proposed signal compares favorably in the quality of the synthesized speech
