Abstract
The technique of weighted least squares (WLS) is used to obtain the optimal decomposition of radar polarization signatures, in which, backscatter is assumed to consist of odd, double, Bragg and cross scattering mechanisms. The results of the decomposition agree with our understanding of radar backscatter, providing information for polarimetric image classification
