Abstract
A genetic algorithm is developed as the preferred solution algorithm of specific harmonic elimination (PWM-SHE) switching pattern. The usual problem of the selection of starting values in numerical solution of a PWM-SHE switching pattern can now easily be avoided. Hence, easy convergence and less computing-time are achieved. Simulation and supporting experimental results are reported in this work
