Abstract
A linear array composed of monofilar spiral antennas excited through helical wires is studied, which can be used on a land station in satellite communications. The results show that the array can form a tilted fan beam with circular polarization. The results are close to those derived by the moment method, in which much time and computer resources are required. Its beam direction can be adjusted by changing the feeding phase difference of the antenna elements. A square array that has broader bandwith of frequency than one antenna element is also analyzed in this paper.
