Abstract :
The performance evaluation of three strategies for allocation of the B channel bandwidth in an integrated services digital network (ISDN) is considered. The strategies are nonboundary, movable-boundary, and non- and movable boundary with digital speech interpolation (DSI). The B channel is a time-division multiplex system with a 193-bit frame structure of 24 8-bit slots and one frame bit. Performance evaluation of these strategies is accomplished by using a GPSS simulation model giving results for the call throughput (Sc), packet throughput (Sp), normalized expected delay (μE(T)), and power (P), which is the system performance measure
