Abstract :
The pole placement problem for a class of 2-D linear systems using state feedback is considered. The open-loop and desired closed-loop characteristic polynomials are considered to be separable. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution to the pole placement problem for 2-D systems are given. An algorithm for finding the state feedback matrix is presented. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the technique
