Abstract :
Both FEM simulation and analyzing deformation behavior require material constitutive model in machining as function of strain, strain rate and temperature. In the paper dynamic flow stress properties were studied at large range of strain (up to 2) and strain rate (102~105 s-1) using combination of SHPB compression test and orthogonal cutting test. The modified Johnson-Cook (JC) constitutive model is chosen to describe flow stress behaviors for aluminum alloy 7050-T7451. Finally, the JC constitutive model determined with two methods is established and verified based on the results of tests and FEM simulation. The comparing output results of cutting force Fc between two methods show the material constitutive model is reliability and reasonable, and superior to only by single test in accuracy and applied range.
