Abstract :
A knowledge-based system is an excellent framework for a system to analyze test results and diagnose the cause of the bad test results. Both analytic and heuristic knowledge can be incorporated into the knowledge bases and rule bases. This concept has been used to build a prototype expert system, ADROIT (A diagnostic rule-oriented intelligent tester) for the diagnosis and repair of analog circuit boards. Although the current expert system requires refinement, it has proven itself to be capable of detecting faulty components which caused the circuits to fail functional tests
