Abstract :
A 64/spl times/64 CMOS active pixel sensor uses autoscaling and a floating-point representation to achieve wide dynamic-range linear output. The chip features a new architecture enabling a customized number of additional bits per pixel readout, with minimal effect on the sensor spatial and temporal resolution.
