Abstract :
A state-space implementation of general-order FIR (finite-impulse response) and IIR (infinite-impulse response) spatial domain filters which minimizes the data communications requirements without increasing computational complexity is presented. The resulting algorithm is also optimized for implementation on multiple-processor systems. Examples of images filters using this technique are given
