Abstract :
This paper proposed an improved neighbor finding algorithm based on directional antenna. Through the algorithm, neighbor finding ability of node was greatly improved. And we also proposed a backoff algorithm which was seldom studied in ad hoc network with directional antenna. The algorithm proposes that through changing the backoff windows, the node will reduce the backoff time. So the networks will reuse spacement more effectively, and the throughput of the network will be improved. Through the simulation we found that the new protocol is much better than IEEE802.11 protocol.
