Abstract :
The authors discuss the design and implementation of a computer graphics-based environment capable of modeling tactical situation arenas as viewed from the cockpit. A user can position mountains, hostile threat envelopes, and a projected flightpath through the region. The resulting three-dimensional models are intended to be used to prototype graphical formats for future aircraft. An overall goal of this investigation was to allow the cockpit researcher to create an entirely new tactical solution display model in less than one hour via mouse input
