Abstract :
This paper presents an analysis summary of the Tokamak Physics Experiment (TPX) vacuum vessel conceptual design. The analyses considered dead weight, shielding water/steam pressure, atmospheric pressure, and engineering plasma disruption forces. Two finite element models were used in the analysis due to the lack of vessel symmetry. Static and dynamic analyses were performed. The major response of the vessel is due to shielding and atmospheric pressure and that of the interior is due to electromagnetic forces
