Abstract :
IPv6 over low-power wireless personal area networks (6LoWPANs) will be a key technology for smart devices such as sensors, smart home, industrial control and even toys to Internet protocol (IP) based networks. But, how to realize 6LoWPAN network connect to IPv6 network? In this paper, we implement a 6LoWPAN gateway that interfaces between them. We provide a performance evaluation of 6LoWPAN gateway used in actual network based on the round trip times, delay variance, packet loss, and the average throughput. These performance tests are executed in various size of payload. The experiment shows that the gateway can realize 6LoWPAN network and IPv6 network interconnection, and it can run well in actual network environment.
