Abstract
The use of sea-of-wires technology was explored for both custom design hand-crafted layouts and semi-custom synthesized layouts. A symbolic layout interface and its associated library cells were developed. Our research result showed that, with a carefully designed cell library, synthesized layouts can achieve densities similar to hand-crafted layouts
