  • Abstract
In this paper, we explore a new melody match method for digital music, called leap-type high-speed match (LHM). It segments melody by musical sense-group to mark leap point. To make the method robust against humming errors, an error-tolerance mechanism is added. A group of melody databases of different sizes are built to test its performance compared with the LAM (linear alignment matching). For same humming clips, the speed of our algorithm is about 3 times faster than that of LAM. This experiment result shows the feasibility of using the leap-type high-speed match for large digital musical library
