Abstract :
Excitation of magnetostatic surface waves by a coplanar waveguide transducer is analyzed by the integral kernel expansion method. An integral equation for an unknown normal component of the magnetic flux density in the slot region of a coplanar waveguide is derived through the Fourier transform. The integral kernel is expanded in terms of orthogonal polynomials and then applying Galerkin´s method to the unknown field reduces the integral equation to a system of algebraic equations for the unknown coefficients. The radiation resistance which characterizes the excitation is calculated as a function of frequency, and comparison of the theory with experiments is in good agreement
