Abstract
The plane-wave scattering by two crossed metal-strip gratings is formulated as a three-dimensional boundary-value problem, taking into account the polarization couplings. It is found that a large range of crossing angle between the two gratings will meet the shielding requirement in practice, regardless of the incident conditions
