Abstract
The traditional processing flow of the digital beam-forming (DBF) for IF real signal is improved in this paper. The improved flow puts the low-pass filter and extraction in the digital down-converter (DDC) behind the weighting in DBF, which can reduce the computation load when the number of the sensors is much more than the number of the beams to be formed. The advantage of the new method is proved by the simulation.
