Abstract :
In this paper, A 3.1-10.6 GHz ultra-wideband (UWB) low-voltage low-noise amplifier (LNA) employing only one-stage cascoded topology is presented. The voltage-current feedback is used to enhance the bandwidth. The research is based on the TSMC 0.18 um CMOS processes. A two-section LC resonance configuration is used to arrive at the input and output matching. Measurement results show the following performances: maximum power gain of 9.18 dB, gain flatness of below plusmn0.58 dB for every band group, minimum noise figure of 4.1 dB, the input- referred third-order intercept point (IIP3) of 7.25 dBm and the input-referred 1-dB compression point (P1 dB) of -2.5 dBm. The power consumption is 23.5 mW under a 1.0 V supply voltage. The chip area is 0.995 mm times0.780 mm.
