Abstract :
The use of satellite commanding as part of the user function with a single-channel transponder (SCT) space-communications satellite is described. The use of satellite commanding by the user of the SCT is compared to users of another communications satellite where use is confined primarily to the operating, or communication, function. The various satellite commands available with the SCT are discussed and scenarios using some of these commands are described
