Abstract
There is an increasing need for an effective method of teaching business school student information technology. Problem-based learning (PBL) has proved to be a highly successful pedagogical model in many fields, although it is not that common in management information system. PBL goes beyond the typical teaching methodology by promoting student interaction. This paper presents a new theoretical PBL model , that is intended to be used by instructors to educate their students in information principles. This theoretical model covers a wide variety of topics and may be inserted into different courses in business-related fields, providing students with a basic understanding of information and technology if they choose to pursue it as a field of advanced study. It also provides implications for practice to guide educators who design and deliver the courses in business method learning.
