Abstract :
Three-dimensional numerical simulation and analysis of the complicated unsteady compressible turbulence flow field in a large-scale gas control valve are performed, using computational fluid dynamics method. Flow visualization of three-dimensional flow field at different valve opening is presented. The velocity distribution and pressure loss of gas flow are studied. The flow behavior of eddy current within the valve is discussed. By following the tracks of ten probe points on the valve plug, pulsation instability, which is caused by turbulence, is analyzed. The root cause of energy loss, fluid noisy and plug vibration is revealed. All of these are of great significance for advancing study of large-scale control valve.
