Abstract :
It is known that in the case of erroneously channel knowledge, the performance of symbol detection in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems may considerably decrease. In this paper, we very briefly address the effect of channel estimation error on the symbols detection in MIMO communication systems. We analytically propose and study two robust detection methods in order to improve the performance of ML detector in MIMO systems when the channel matrix is imperfectly known at receiver. In our proposed robust method, the ML algorithm is modified while a small computational complexity is added to the detector. Then, using computer simulations we study the performance of the proposed methods and the conventional ML detector in the imperfect channel knowledge scenarios
