Abstract :
We show that OPC enables long-haul transmission with terrestrial fiber spans (94.5 km) and EDFA only amplification. In this experiment, 42.8-Gbit/s RZ-DQPSK with 0.8-bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency is transmitted over 42 SSMF spans, corresponding to a length of 3,970-km.
