Abstract
A new digital signal-processing method for instantaneous frequency measurement is proposed. It is based on the warblet transform and is mainly addressed to multicomponent signals whose instantaneous frequency trajectories are periodic and different from one another. Thanks to an optimal choice of WT parameters, the method is capable of exhibiting superior resolution and accuracy with respect to other solutions already presented in the literature. Several experiments on both emulated and actual signals assess the method´s efficacy and reliability.
