Abstract :
Interest in unmanned aerial vehicles has been growing significantly and even more interest in Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(A-UAV). The A-UAV in this work is a quad rotor designed for indoor applications capable of performing recognition of name plates in various written arabic script which can be generalized to any form of cursive writing. This paper deals with theory and implementation of holistic recognition of words by fitting ellipses to extracted script contour data and then evaluates the performance of our implemented pattern recognition techniques for real-time systems.
