Abstract
The E-3 Automated Weapon System Master Planning/Program Management Information System is a prototype program to demonstrate the benefits of automated decision support. The system capitalizes on programs such as LOGDIS and LMS Modernization, makes extensive use of proven evolutionary development techniques, and incorporates a new state-of-the-art combat capability assessment tool. The author addresses the approach currently being taken to provide automated support of the overall system program management decision making-the crux of the planning process-and the plan generation
