Abstract :
In this paper a new filter bank is presented. Its main features are exact 1/M-octave-band resolution, subband signals without aliasing and phase distortion, and perfect reconstruction. The system is based on oversampled complementary filter banks. Besides the usual dyadic sampling rate decimation techniques single-sideband modulation and demodulation are used. It is shown, that this filter bank constitutes a Discrete Wavelet Transform. Typical applications are the analysis and simulation of room acoustics in civil engineering and the signal decomposition in hearing aids
