Title :
Critical elements of a co-op program
Author_Institution :
Washington Univ., USA
Abstract :
Cooperative education (co-op) allows an organization to hire students to work full-time for multiple academic terms. All three partners in this relationship (student, employer, institution) benefit from participation in a co-op program. Developing a multilayered approach for involvement at the institution demonstrates an organization´s commitment to students, faculty and staff. Co-op is an opportunity for a company to strengthen recruiting efforts and maintain strong relationships with the institution. This paper discusses many factors to consider before launching a co-op program.
