Abstract
Large number computation is acknowledged as the bottleneck of the RSA algorithm. We present an adjustable Montgomery modular multiplication architecture with a new CSA tree. Then we implemented RSA cryptosystems on FPGA, evaluated its throughput and area. The different optimized combinations were found for frequency and circuit cost. Comparing with other studies, it shows that the proposed RSA system achieved a better performance-cost and the design can be adjusted to satisfy verity performance and cost requirements.
