Title :
A case study of wound rotor induction motor protection
Author :

Abstract :
Wound rotor induction motors provide several advantages over squirrel cage induction motors when applied to high inertial loads. This paper describes an example of applying motor protection techniques to a wound rotor motor with a slip energy recovery drive system. Special emphasis was placed on detecting and clearing ground faults in the rotor circuit.
