Abstract :
E-government is the organic combination of information technology and government management function. The significance of carrying out E-government construction in China mainly include: upgrading officials´ operation ability; changing official´s thinking; unifying officials´ working style in backward regions; promoting officials´ consciousness of contributing efforts to the people. In order to promote the development of Chinese e-government, the high-level political leaders should advance the performance management and appraisal legalization. The government should offer public services through Internet. It is also necessary to make full use of advanced technologies, establish post-relief system of the government performance management and appraisal, and make a basic law about governments´ performance management and appraisal legalization. Moreover, the government should also build a scientific and reasonable evaluation system for Chinese E-government performance.
