Abstract :
This paper proposes an image scrambling algorithm based on chaos theory and Vigenere cipher. The scrambling process is performed on every pixel´s grey level by sorting the chaotic sequence as Vigenere cipher. The analysis of the simulation shows the validity of the algorithm. By discussing the security and compared with the image encryption results of classical Vigenere cipher, the proposed algorithm is proved of better practicability.
