Abstract :
The aim of this work is to assess the effectiveness of approaches for energy fluxes estimation at the boundary layer by TM, AVHRR and ground meteorological measurements, comparing the results to ground measurements. These include, besides meteorological records such as air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure and wind speed, other parameters such as total and net solar radiation, soil temperature and heat flux at different depths. The ground station is located at S. Pietro Capofiume in the south eastern Po river plain and is managed jointly by ENEL and CISE. Following experiments reported in the literature the energy balance parameters have been evaluated and compared in the authors´ case from remotely sensed measurements obtained from Thematic Mapper and NOAA multitemporal datasets registered in the same days of year
