Abstract :
There are a number of design variables such as channel bandwidth, modulation technique, speech coding rate, and channel coding rate that affect channel performance in a digital cellular system. Once these variables are fixed and realized in hardware and firmware, channel performance analyses provide data necessary for channel (and system) optimization. Results of field measurements performed on AT&T´s digital subscriber channel that provide bit-error rate versus signal-to-noise ratio data are reported
