Abstract
Hardware for the automatic long-term measurement of blood pressure (BP) is wedded to a set of software modules for the computation of time-specified tolerance intervals and the evaluation of measures of BP excess in the design of a computer-based system for the diagnosis of gestational hypertension (GH). This software system may serve to help in early diagnosis, to initiate treatment if needed, to time treatment when it is more desirable and least harmful in terms of undesired effects, and to gauge the patient´s response to treatment
