Abstract :
By a simple method, we propose the parameterization form of the scaling filter corresponding to 4-band symmetric orthogonal wavelet system with compact support, then derive the one of the corresponding filter bank by the extension of orthogonal matrix. Applying this parameterization form of the scaling filter, we can construct 4-band symmetric orthogonal scaling functions with compact support, furthermore, the corresponding wavelets can be obtained by the one of the corresponding filter bank.
